Hurlimann Tractors & Lineup
Hurlimann is a storied Swiss tractor manufacturer with a rich heritage in agricultural engineering. Founded in 1883 by Johann Hurlimann, the company initially gained prominence for its innovative steam engines and threshing machines. However, it was in the early 20th century that Hurlimann made its most significant mark by pioneering direct-injection diesel technology for tractors, setting new standards for efficiency and power in the agricultural machinery sector. This technological breakthrough established Hurlimann as a leader in the European market, particularly in Switzerland and neighboring countries. Over the decades, Hurlimann expanded its product range to include a variety of tractors tailored for different agricultural needs, from compact utility models to powerful row-crop tractors. In 1975, Hurlimann was acquired by the Italian conglomerate SAME (Società Accomandita Motori Endotermici), which marked the beginning of a new chapter for the brand. Under SAME's ownership, Hurlimann tractors continued to be produced, benefiting from shared technological advancements and manufacturing efficiencies. Today, while the Hurlimann brand remains active, its tractors are closely aligned with those of SAME and Lamborghini, both of which are part of the SAME Deutz-Fahr (SDF) Group. This integration allows Hurlimann to leverage the group's extensive resources and innovations while maintaining its distinct identity and legacy.
