Acremaster
Australia • 6 Models
Acremaster was an Australian tractor manufacturer that specialized in large articulated four-wheel drive tractors during the 1970s and 1980s. Founded by Laurie Phillips in Merredin, Western Australia, the company emerged as a pioneering force in the region's agricultural machinery sector. Its tractors were known for their robust design and suitability for the demanding conditions of Australian farming. The brand gained significant recognition when it began producing tractors for IH Australia in the years leading up to International Harvester's acquisition by Case. This period marked a significant milestone in Acremaster's history, as it demonstrated the company's capability to meet the standards of a major international player in the industry. In 1985, Acremaster was acquired by Horwood Bagshaw, a move that allowed the brand to continue offering custom-order tractors for another two years. However, the company ceased production in 1987, marking the end of its operations. Despite its relatively short lifespan, Acremaster left a lasting impact on the Australian agricultural machinery landscape, particularly in the niche market of large articulated tractors.
